Gold, gold, gold, gold

THE Derwent Valley's four-time Olympian Anthony Edwards will bring home to Molesworth four gold medals from his performances at the National Rowing Championships held in Adelaide.

As well as his four gold medals, the New Norfolk Rowing Club member and state development officer was also named as a member of Rowing Australia's male crew of the year for 2010.

His wins at the national titles were:
  • Men's Open Lightweight Pair, with Sam Beltz from Lindisfarne Rowing Club. The two successfully defended their national title with a comprehensive victory, finishing a boat-length clear of Ben Cureton and Todd Skipworth (WA).
  • Men's Lightweight Coxless Four, with Beltz, Blair Tunevitsch (Tamar Rowing Club) and Tom Gibson (Huon Rowing Club).
  • Men's Open Lightweight Eight, with Beltz, Tunevitsch, Gibson, Michael Egan (University RC), Oliver Lindsay (Tamar RC), Nick Baker (Lindisfarne RC), Alister Foot (Tamar RC) and cox Nick Edwards (Hutchins).
  • Men's Open Lightweight Coxless Four, with Beltz, Tunevitsch and Gibson, retaining the Penrith Cup for Tasmania).
Edwards, Beltz, Tunevitsch and Todd Skipworth (Perth Rowing Club, WA) were announced as Rowing Australia's Male Crew of the Year 2010 at an awards presentation on Thursday night in Adelaide. The four were silver medalists at the World Rowing Championships Lake Karapiro, New Zealand, last November.
