Hot day here already

GOOD afternoon New Norfolk, at noon the temperature has already hit 35 degrees at the nearest weather station at Bushy Park and it is just a few points below 37 degrees in New Norfolk (unofficial).
  • A fire weather warning remains in place for much of the state including the Derwent Valley.
  • A total fire ban has been declared for much of the state including the Derwent Valley until midnight tonight (Saturday).
Report any fires by calling triple zero (000) and listen to ABC local radio or visit the Tasmania Fire Service website (www.fire.tas.gov.au) to keep up to date with conditions.

The weather bureau forecasts a top temperature of 37 degrees at New Norfolk, with a 48% chance of rain late this afternoon and 71% chance of showers this evening. A cooler 24 degrees with an early shower or two is New Norfolk's forecast for tomorrow (Sunday).
