Crash closes Lyell Highway

POLICE have closed the Lyell Highway between Granton and New Norfolk due to what they describe as a "significant crash" near Sorell Creek.

The highway will be closed until further notice and police advise that all traffic should avoid the area, using Boyer Rd as an alternative route.

3.45PM UPDATE: police have reopened the road, five hours after the multiple vehicle incident.
