Update: Successful candidates named

THE Tasmanian Electoral Commission has announced the names of the successful candidates elected to the Derwent Valley Council for four year terms. They are, in the order of election:
  1. Cr Martyn Evans, of Magra
  2. Mr Tony Nicholson, of Lachlan 
  3. Mr Chris Lester, of Magra
  4. Cr Judy Bromfield, of New Norfolk
  5. Mr Wayne Shoobridge, of New Norfolk
The election of councillors (above) is conducted separately to the elections for mayor and deputy mayor, which saw Cr Evans returned as mayor and Cr Barry Lathey elected as deputy mayor.

  1. Hopefully it will be a plus with at least one new member but bit of same old, same old. The people get what they deserve when only a bit over half actually vote. It seems to me that so many don't really care what happens with their rate dollars, sad.
