Washing your hands for 20 seconds is one of the most effective forms of infection control. Do this after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; after close physical contact with anyone who is unwell; after using the toilet; before and after eating; before, during and after preparing food; and after feeding or touching a pet.

Relay for Life under way

Hundreds of Derwent Valley residents are this evening doing laps of the Tynwald
Park oval as part of the second Relay for Life to be held at New Norfolk. The event
 started at 2pm with an official opening by the Governor of Tasmania, Professor Kate
Warner. The Relay for Life Oath was read by cancer surviror Reg Parton, followed
 by the traditional "survivors and carers" lap which was led by Professor Warner.
The event continues all night and concludes at 10am tomorrow (Sunday).
