Tynwald Park to reopen in stages

PUBLIC access has been restored to parts of Tynwald Park following several weeks of council clean-up works following the recent floods. The process of reopening the park started yesterday morning.

"Whilst the facility is not back to its usual pristine condition, council will continue to upgrade the remaining elements over the coming months. This includes the footbridge access into Turriff Lodge," a spokesman said in a statement.

"For the immediate future, traffic will not be permitted to the lower section beyond the stage at the Derwent River end.  Bollards will be in place preventing access.

"Council staff and vehicles will continue working to return Tynwald Park back to its usual state, so please ensure you obey all signage and direction by council staff when works are in progress."
