FIRST GRADE: New Norfolk I got off to a winning start in its T20 match against Old Beach last weekend, defeating the home side by 12 runs. The win was thanks mainly to a great innings by Red Caps opener Jordan Willoughby who made 69 off 42 deliveries and then took four wickets with the ball. Willoughby put on 74 with first drop Aaron Drew, who made a run per ball to score 28. Brad Kemmler made 23 and the team finished 6/148 from its allotted 20 overs. In reply, Old Beach made a good game off it, but fell short making 9/136 (20). After top-scoring with the bat, Willoughby then went about it with the ball, dismissing four of the top five Bushrangers batsman and finishing with the great figures of 4/19 from four overs in a great individual effort with both bat and ball. Nathan Eiszele did his bit taking 3/24 from four while Aaron Drew was tight with 1/12 from 3.

SECOND GRADE: Gretna I defeated St Annes in a good match. Gretna had first knock, making 7/103 off its 20 overs. Opener Aaron Maddox top-scored with 20 (27) while Trent Grant made 17 from 22 and Rhys Browning 13. In reply and playing one short, the Crows needing 12 from the last over finished 9/92 from 19.2 overs. The Gretna bowlers did very well with Zac Crosswell taking 2/8 from 2 overs, and Trent Grant 2/12 off 4 overs in the good first-up win.

In the match at Sorell, Molesworth defeated the home side by the big margin of seven wickets. The home town had first dig and was bundled out for 62. Molesworth then chased down the target off just 10.2 overs, finishing 1/63. Brad Coppleman top-scored with 25 not out from 23. Opener and brother Daniel Coppleman remained 22no from 23 while Brayden Hodge made 11. With the ball it was the visitors opening bowlers doing the early damage. Jeremy Nichols took 3-8 from 3 overs and Brad Coppleman was also tight taking 3-9 from 4 overs. They got great support from new player Ben Triffett 2-8 (0.5) and captain Jamie Adams 1-5 from 3.

In the match at Ogilvie High School, New Norfolk II went down to Marquis by one run in a thriller. Needing two runs from the last delivery to win, Red Caps batsman Josh Walsh tried his hardest but was out, caught in what was a great catch. The home team made 3/132 from its 20 overs. Jamie Hill 1-23 (4) and Josh Walsh 1-30 (4) were the wicket-takers while Ryan Banks-Smith got the run out. In reply New Norfolk finished 5/131 from its 20 overs. Opener and captain Jake King belted 61 from 54 balls. He put on 76 with wicket keeper Leigh Berry who made a run a ball 34. Richard Graham remained 14 not out from 16.

FOURTH GRADE: Bothwell I playing at home easily defeated Lindisfarne by seven wickets. The visitors had first hit making 9-91 from their 20 overs. Opening bowler for the Bucks, Brock Nichols, took 3-6 off his four overs in a very good display. Veteran Joey Eyles took 2-20 from 3 while captain Cody Eyles got 1-12 (4) and Matthew Eyles 1-12 (3). In the run chase Bothwell finished 3/92 from 15 overs. Batting at number four, Cody Eyles lease from the from hitting 41 from 49 deliveries. Matthew Eyles made quick runs remaining 28 not out from 11 deliveries while Josh Eyles was 10no off 6.

FIFTH GRADE: Thanks to a smashing century by Gretna II player Corey Ransley, the home side defeated St Anne's by 70 runs. Gretna had first hit, making the big score of 3/185 off its 20 overs. The big-hitting Ransley came to the wicket with the score at 2/25. He then went on a mission making 119 from just 55 deliveries. It was carnage on the big Gretna ground with Ransley hitting seven fours and 10 sixes in what was a sight to see. By the 16th over the score was 3/115, then in one over he clubbed 32 runs and in total from the last four overs 70 runs were amassed. One of the visitors bowlers finished with 0-50 from just two overs. Captain Ross Langford playing second fiddle remained 15 not out from 17 balls and put on a 121 partnership with the big hitter. Opener Mathew Burns made 17 (16) while Jordan Hastie 19 put on 39 with Ransley. In reply, St Anne's playing one short finished 9/115 from 19.4 overs. Opening bowler Josh Whitford did well taking 3 for just 8 runs from four overs. Another youngster Jake Campbell also did well taking 3-22 from 4 while veteran Mathew Burns took 2-10 (3.4) and Ross Langford 1-31 (4).

In the other fifth grade match, New Norfolk III went down to the Knights by 33 runs at Collinsvale Oval. The home team batting first made 7/163 from its 20 overs. For the Red Caps bowlers, Liam Kalbfell 2-15 (4) and Luke Jarvis 2-22 (2) were the main wicket takers. In reply, the visitors finished 9/130 from the 20 overs. Opener Aaron Triffitt blasted 63 from just 35 balls in a very entertaining innings. Other opener and captain Nathan Heron made 23 from 20 while the last man in, Liam Kalbfell, made 17 from 14 deliveries.

SEVENTH GRADE: Bothwell II playing at home went down to Campania by eight wickets. Batting first, the Bucks were dismissed for 86 from 19.5 overs while in reply the Kookaburras finished 2/90 from 14.4 overs. Wicket-takers for the Bucks were captain Peter Hansch 1-9 (2) and Mark Pearce 1-12 (3). With the bat, Nathan White top-scored with 22 from 21 and Adam Clark made 16 from 15 deliveries.

In the other seventh grade match, Molesworth II went down to Derwent easily by 112 runs at Wentworth Park. Derwent made 7/168 from its allotted 20 overs. In reply Molesworth playing two sort, was bowled out finishing 8/56 off 13 overs. Captain Anthony Murray top-scored with 12. With the ball, John Fowle was the main wicket taker with 2-21 from four overs.
