Potty idea fading into history

Our photo shows the scene in lower Burnett St, New Norfolk, around 8.30 this morning following the successful removal of the first few planter boxes. The remainder are expected to go tomorrow (Wednesday). A sprinkling of rain serves to highlight the immense damage done to the road surface by the ill-considered placement of the boxes nearly two years ago. It is to be hoped the council will investigate more appropriate tree plantings to bring shade and scenery to this thoroughfare.

    And what happened to the trees? Or has this investment also ended up on the tip? Landscaping and general beautification is long overdue for this town and the lack of it may be the reason that travellers don't stay here for longer than just a take away stop over.

    The council promotes the Autumn colours of the Derwent valley.What will happen when the aging Poplars die and the Willows(Noxious weeds) are removed?.This town needs a lot of trees to be planted to make the town attractive in the future.

    hey hold on a second i smell a rat.for give me.. the first so called pink planter box ,coined by councillor Damien Bester on his web site.Was removed outside the Liberty service station . Was i them who wanted them removed.or their customers with their fast cars? funny those pink planter boxers are the same colour as the new paving at the southern end of High st.The pink dollar in valley is working.More antique shops,
