Frosty start to Monday

THE Derwent Valley is among the regions under Frost and Road Weather warnings for Monday morning as overnight temperatures tumble.

With temperatures down to -2 degrees, frosts are forecast for the morning in parts of the Midlands, Central North, Upper Derwent Valley, East Coast and North East forecast districts. Temperatures at ground level can be many degrees lower than those recorded by standard weather stations, especially in calm conditions with clear skies.

Icy roads will make driving conditions potentially dangerous during Monday morning in parts of the Central North, North East, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast and Upper Derwent Valley forecast districts.
