Brighton v New Norfolk
BRIGHTON is back at home tomorrow but its chances of winning a fifth game for the season look very slim as it takes on top-of-the-table New Norfolk. Brighton was gallant in defeat last weekend against Claremont. After being well down in the game the Robins finished strongly which was a good sign for coach Ling as his young side steadily improves throughout the season.
The powerful Eagles had a massive win at home over Huonville last weekend but I’m sure coach Murray would like harder contests for his side.
Brighton needs to play accountable football and must try to use its home ground to advantage by chipping the ball around and not bomb the ball forward as the Eagles will sit across half backline and try and get the home side on the rebound.
As well as having a list of experienced players, the Eagles' younger players have stood up in recent weeks. If they take over the midfield battles then their multi-talented forward line will score extremely heavily as they have been using the right options in recent weeks.
Let’s hope Brighton starts the game full of running and won’t be daunted by this task. If the Robins accept defeat before the game starts, New Norfolk has a great ability to really bury them.
New Norfolk should record another big victory but the pride of the Brighton side should see them put up a gallant performance to stay in-form as they come into some winnable games in the next few weeks.
Dodges Ferry v Claremont
FOURTH-PLACED Dodges Ferry is back at home for the second week in a row but faces a massive challenge in taking on second-placed Claremont. You would expect Dodges Ferry to lift for this challenge and coach Curran will have his side fired up to prove they can match the top sides. Claremont will be well aware of the opposition's home ground advantage and will be determined up to avoid any complacency.
East Coast v Cygnet
THE East Coast Bombers are back at home and will be looking for a strong victory to cement their place in the top five when they take on a struggling Cygnet.
Hobart v Sorell
HOBART will be full of confidence after last weekend’s great victory away from home. Back on home ground they may be expected to win, but Sorell’s great form last weekend makes this a very even contest.
Huonville v Lindisfarne
HUONVILLE is back at home but is going to struggle to record its third win of the season when taking on the in-form Lindisfarne which looks set to inflict another heavy defeat.
