Targa to take a break in town

TARGA Tasmania returns to New Norfolk this Friday after an absence of several years. The 2015 event got under way earlier this week and will make its way from the West Coast this Friday for competitive stages at Tarraleah and Ellendale and lunch at New Norfolk.

Richmond St, Circle St and upper High St will be closed for several hours to allow the Targa fleet to regroup and have lunch before setting off for the final competive stage at Grasstree Hill.

The public will be able to mingle with Targa crews and take a close look at the participating cars while they are parked for the lunch break in New Norfolk.


ROAD CLOSURES THIS FRIDAY, MAY 1

  • MT ARROWSMITH road closure 7.15–11.45am: Lyell Hwy closed between Bradshaws Bridge and Derwent Bridge
  • TARRALEAH road closure 8.29am–12.59pm: Lyell Hwy closed between Tungatinah Rd and Oldina Drive; Oldina Drive closed between Lyell Hwy and Pugara St.
  • ELLENDALE road closure 09.21am–1.51pm: Ellendale Rd closed between Lyell Hwy and Dillons Rd.
  • NEW NORFOLK road closure 9.30am–2pm: Richmond St closed between Blair St and Circle St; Circle St closed between Richmond St and High St; High St closed between Circle St and Burnett St.
