Police seek crash witnesses

POLICE are calling for witnesses to a serious crash in New Norfolk last night.

At about 6pm on Friday, New Norfolk Police were alerted to a crash on Blair St at the intersection of Charlotte St, involving a white Holden utility and a homemade motorised bicycle.

"The 33-year-old male rider was taken to Royal Hobart Hospital by Ambulance Tasmania with serious head, chest and spinal injuries and is listed as critical but stable," police said in a statement. "The 33-year-old driver from Launceston also attended the RHH but was released shortly later."    

"Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the manner of riding before the crash. Information can be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestopperstas.com.au or Crash Investigation Services on 13 13 44."
