Central Hawks v Claremont
CLAREMONT remain firmly entrenched in the top six after they travelled to Oatlands but easily accounted for the Central Hawks by 75 points, kicking 15.15 (105) to 4.6 (30). The visitors got off to the start they wanted with the first two goals of the game as both sides took time to settle with plenty of mistakes but Claremont went into the first break with a handy 17 point lead. The second term saw the Magpies start to create the loose man and they took control of the game with five goals and moved to a handy 37 point lead at the main break and looked in total control of the game.

The home side Hawks really slowed up the game in the second half but were not able to generate any scoring opportunities as Claremont peppered away to record a solid win of the road but will need to improve in recent weeks as they have a tough draw. Best players for the Magpies were Fewkes, Bird, Smith and Wilson with Curtain dangerous up forward with four goals. Better players for a valiant Hawks were McWilliams, Nibbs and Brown as they still chase their first win of the season.

Brighton v Cygnet
CYGNET really showed how much they have improved this season when they travelled to Pontville and showed they were far too good for a disappointing Brighton, winning by 28 points, 14.14 (98) to 9.16 (70).
The first term saw the victors get off to a really good start on the road and did not allow the Robins to get any early momentum as they only trailled by five points and looked well in the contest. The second quarter saw the Port really step up a gear and surprise their more fancied rivals and piled on five goals and moved to a very handy 20 point lead and looked clearly the better side.

The third term is known as the premiership quarter and Cygnet put Brighton to the sword. The Robins could not respond and the Port kicked a further five goals and raced away to a match winning lead of 42 points. Although they slowed up in the last term they deserved their great victory especially on the road. Best players for the Port were plenty with Ford the stand out all day and he received good support from Davie and Watson whilst Tyrell and Halton each kicked four goals. Best players for a very flat Brighton were Blackwell, Triffitt, Howlett and Boucher and they are now in trouble of dropping out of the top six as Cygnet are breathing down their necks.

Dodges Ferry v East Coast
DODGES Ferry moved to third on the ladder and continued their good recent form when they thrashed East Coast by 95 points, 23.8 (146) to 7.9 (51).

Sorell v Lindisfarne
LINDISFARNE continued on their winning way and sewed up their clash against Sorell in the first term. They eventually won by 88 points kicking 20.11 (131) to 6.7 (43).

Kingborough v Huonville
KINGBOROUGH taught their rivals a football lesson as they cruised past a disappointing Huonville, kicking 17.12 (114) to a lowly 3.6 (24).

New Norfolk had the bye.
