Road weather alert for snow and ice

Road Weather Alert
for Upper Derwent Valley, Central Plateau, Western, Midlands, East Coast, South East, North West Coast and North East forecast districts

Issued at 9.37pm on Monday, August 19, 2013.

Icy and snow covered roads will make driving conditions dangerous during Monday night and Tuesday on roads above the 300 metre level in most parts of Tasmania.

For information on any road closures, please contact your local council or the Police.

The next alert will be issued by 5am Tuesday.

Warning to Sheep Graziers

for the Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts

Issued at 9.38pm on Monday, August 19, 2013.

Sheep Graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and westerly winds are expected during Monday night and Tuesday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts.

There is a high risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

The next warning will be issued by 5am Tuesday.
