Washing your hands for 20 seconds is one of the most effective forms of infection control. Do this after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; after close physical contact with anyone who is unwell; after using the toilet; before and after eating; before, during and after preparing food; and after feeding or touching a pet.

Road Weather Alert
for the Upper Derwent Valley, Central North, Western, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast and South East forecast districts

Issued at 8:11pm on Thursday 6 August 2015.


Icy and snow covered roads will make driving conditions dangerous during Thursday and Friday morning in parts of the Central North, Western, Central Plateau, Midlands, East Coast, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts.

For information on any road closures, please contact your local council or the Police.


The next alert will be issued by 5am Friday.
