Mona to open Willow Court to the world

THE Willow Court historic site will be opened to the world as part of this year's Dark Mofo festival. The landmark festival's program for 2016 was announced in Hobart earlier tonight, with Willow Court among the key attractions.

Two events will be staged over several days in council-owned buildings on the former hospital site in New Norfolk. Australian performance artist Mike Parr will stage a 72-hour performance from June 9-12. The site will be open to visitors 24 hours a day during that time.

The second event will be an art installation occupying multiple buildings on the site, featuring video, sound, photos, objects and an interactive component, open over several afternoons.

Dark Mofo is the midwinter festival presented by Mona - the museum of old and new art.
