Police seek witnesses to Ellendale incident

TWO men have been charged over an alleged aggravated armed robbery at Ellendale about 10pm on Wednesday. Detective Sergeant Ben Duffey of Tasmania Police said the event appeared to be an isolated incident.

“The resident of the address attended the Royal Hobart Hospital and was treated for minor injuries,” Sgt Duffey said..

"Members from Glenorchy and Bridgewater Criminal Investigation Branches conducted a number of preliminary investigations in relation the incident which coincided with a number of searches at private residences being conducted in the Glenorchy area."

Following these investigations a 34-year-old Glenorchy man and a 36-year-old Gretna man were charged with aggravated armed robbery and listed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have information relating to this incident. They are particularly interested if anyone saw three men in dark-coloured clothing or saw a red Holden Commodore being driven suspiciously in the Ellendale and Karanja areas on Thursday, October 11.
