Pink Lady Day observed

A SERVICE remembering those lost to cancer as well as those who have survived the illness was held in New Norfolk today.

Arthur Square was the venue for Pink Lady Day, with those in attendance either celebrating being a survivor or remembering those who have passed away.

Reverend Celia Hooker of St Matthew's Anglican Church officiated for the memorial service which was organised by the Can-Hope Cancer Support Group.

These tribute events are often called Mini Fields of Women due to the tradition of placing pink silhouettes in the ground or on display, bearing personal messages from family and friends. Every community presents their Pink Lady Day or Mini Field of Women tribute in their own way.

The ceremony at Arthur Square, New Norfolk, this morning.
