Washing your hands for 20 seconds is one of the most effective forms of infection control. Do this after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; after close physical contact with anyone who is unwell; after using the toilet; before and after eating; before, during and after preparing food; and after feeding or touching a pet.

Road Weather Alert for Tasmania
for Midlands, East Coast, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts

Issued at 10:38 am on Friday 30 December 2016.


Reduced visibility in heavy showers will make road conditions dangerous during Friday in parts of southeastern Tasmania. Areas likely to be affected are the southern halves of the Midlands and East Coast districts, south of Ross and Swansea, and for parts of the Upper Derwent Valley and South East districts. Heavy showers are expected in these areas until mid-afternoon and should be fairly brief.

For information on any road closures, please contact your local council or the Police.
