Australia's state and federal governments are taking action to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Use the links above to source the latest advice about what you can do to protect yourself and others. Washing your hands for 20 seconds is one of the most effective forms of infection control. Do this after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; after close physical contact with anyone who is unwell; after using the toilet; before and after eating; before, during and after preparing food; and after feeding or touching a pet.

What's important to you about the river?

WHAT'S important to you about the River Derwent? NRM South and the Derwent Estuary Program have joined forces to develop a "River Derwent Plan" that will examine the security and improvement of water resources in the catchment area.

Interested community members are invited to a workshop session being held at the New Norfolk Library in Charles St, from 7-9pm on January 16. Topics will include:

  • What do you value most about the Derwent River and its tributaries?
  • What are your concerns for water quality and water security now and into the future ?
  • What actions are needed to manage this waterway?
