The old Woolworths supermarket has been boarded up for three years. |
A video posted on the Shiploads New Norfolk Facebook page has provided a glimpse behind the boards that have covered the front of the old Woolworths supermarket since the business moved to its new premises across the road three years ago.
After originally saying it hoped to be open by June this year, Shiploads has this week advertised for staff and said the big new shop at 17-21 Charles St will be open in early October.
Development plans approved by the Derwent Valley Council allowed for the old supermarket to be divided into three tenancies, with Shiploads occupying the largest of the three shops. Plans lodged with the council showed a fitness centre and a bottle shop either side of Shiploads.
Several screenshots from the video are posted here or you can view it on Facebook.
