FORMER teacher Sheila Maxfield is being remembered by generations of grateful students following her death at New Norfolk yesterday. A long-serving educator, artist and community worker, Mrs Maxfield passed away at Corumbene Nursing Home, aged 89.
Best remembered as an art teacher at New Norfolk High School, she also turned her hand to other subjects as required, including typing and cooking, and worked as a relief teacher for a time after her retirement. Dozens of her former students have shared their memories and condolences on social media yesterday and today.
Mrs Maxfield's funeral will be held on November 16.
