Second week of junior soccer

Under 6 Red: New Norfolk played Glenorchy Knights Red at Glenorchy on Saturday morning. All players did well and had fun. Well done team!

Under 6 Black: Had a Friday night game versus Brighton. It was a great team effort and the kids enjoyed themselves. A special mention to Amber Rainbird for scoring 4 goals. Well done Amber! (Thanks to Chloe Gleeson for this report.)

Under 6 White: A great game against Derwent United with the boys working the ball around ground extremely well. Tristan Dunn gets a special mention this week for his great scoring ability. (Thanks to Janelle Maw for this report.)

Under 7 Red: Another great game against Brighton. Goals were shared between all players with some great defensive work from all players. (Thanks to Tameeka Ackerley for this report.)

Under 7 Black: A great game. Hamish, Jacob and Declan did some great defending and Jack was our goal scorer.  It was exciting to have the lights come on for the last few minutes of the game.  Well done boys! (Thanks to Trudie Baer for this report)

Under 7 White: A good game against Brighton. First-time player Jacob Judges-Abel scored his first goal. All played well but Brighton was too strong in the end. (Thanks to Lauren Browning for this report.)

Under 8: An awesome game against Brighton. Maiken and Cruez stopped lots of goals. Caleb kicked his first goal while Oliver, Georgia, Sam, Luke, Abby and Cody all shared the ball well. Well done guys, we are all proud of you. (Thanks to Bianca Tolputt for this report.)

Under 10 Red: New Norfolk (U9) played Derwent United on Friday night. A half each in the goals by Aidan and Brock saw some great saves made by both boys. Well done everyone. (Thanks to Renata Featherstone for this report.)

Under 10 Black: A quick game against Glenorchy Knights at Glenorchy with all players putting in 110%.  Special mentions to our goal scorer Jed and to Riley for his consistent effort throughout the game. (Thanks to Allison Young for this report.)

Under 12: New Norfolk played Derwent United Gold on Friday night. Kasey Dillon played an excellent game in goal. Although we were against a really strong side, our team kept playing consistently for the whole game and continued to bond well. Well done. (Thanks to Sharon Rayner for this report.)

Under 14 Red: There was a slow start to the game against Zebras at Queens Walk early on Saturday morning with the Zebras dominating the first half.  Our players rallied after half time and finished strongly.  Our goalies Trent Nichols and Adam Blackwell did well to deflect many shots. Nathan Coleman showed great speed in defence to cut off the Zebras attack when all seemed lost and Jack Rose refused to let the opposition past.  Thank you to several U14 Black players for subbing. (Thanks to Janine White for this report.)

Under 14 Black: The team put a good fight against Olympia at New Norfolk with Olympia just that little bit stronger. Goalies Nathan Coleman and Tom Fulton deflected well. Britney White worked tirelessly on the wing and Josh Russell and Jordan Bailey penetrated Olympia’s defence to score a goal each. Thank you to several U14 Red players for subbing. (Thanks to Daniella Fulton for this report.)

Under 14 Red play Beachside A at Sandown 2 at 12.30pm Saturday 20th April
Under 14 Black play against New Town Eagles at Clare Street at 9am Saturday 20th April.
