Police seek witnesses to fatal accident

POLICE would like to anyone who witnessed last night's fatal car crash on Boyer Rd or saw the car before the incident which occurred on the New Norfolk side of the Boyer Rd railway underpass.

Tasmania Police say a four-year-old New Norfolk girl died as the result of the single vehicle crash on Boyer Road, Boyer, just after 6pm last night.

Police say a white Mitsubishi Magna sedan was being driven along Boyer Rd towards Bridgewater by a 33-year-old New Norfolk woman. The car overturned after failing to negotiate a left-hand curve.

A young girl died at the scene and four teenage passengers were taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for observation.

Police crash investigator Constable Adam Hall would like to hear from any member of the public who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle prior to the incident.  Anyone with information can contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
