Colts and seniors into elimination finals

THE New Norfolk colts and seniors are into the Southern Football League finals following the completion of the 2019 roster series.

The home and away season ended with an epic battle between New Norfolk and Cygnet at Boyer Oval on Saturday, resulting in a seven-point loss for the Eagles.

The reserves finished with a big 59-point win over Cygnet while the colts and women both recorded losses.

Five of Cygnet's majors were kicked by AFL Hall of Fame member Barry Hall in what was his third match with the Huon Valley team.

There is speculation that the former St Kilda, Sydney and Western Bulldogs key forward and Swans 2005 premiership captain will now play in the SFL finals.

This Saturday will see the New Norfolk colts play off against Sorell in the elimination final at Anzac Park, Lindisfarne, starting at 9.30am.

Later in the same day, New Norfolk will play Cygnet at Cygnet at 2.30pm in the senior competition's elimination final.
