Final flood watch message

Final Flood Watch for Derwent and South East catchments

Issued at 10:25am on Sunday 11 August 2019

 Flood Watch Number: 3
No further flooding is expected in the flood watch catchments.
A low pressure system situated to the east of Tasmania produced a strong southerly stream over the State in the past couple of days. Conditions are now easing as the low moves away.
In the 24 hours to 9 am Sunday, widespread rainfall totals of 5-15 mm were observed across southeastern coastal areas, while <5 mm was recorded through in the southern Midlands. Southern coastal areas along the D'Entrecasteaux Channel recorded 15-35 mm.
A further 5-15 mm is forecast in southern coastal areas and the East Coast for the remainder of Sunday, with 20 mm possible in elevated areas.
Showers will continue in the west and southwest on Monday bringing a further 5-15 mm, before easing to 2-5 mm on Tuesday.
Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard over the next couple of days.
Flooding is no longer expected in the following catchments: Channel Coastal Rivers (South East Cape to Gordon); Derwent River; East Coastal Rivers (south of Bicheno); South East
