Flood Watch for Derwent and South East catchments

Isolated minor flooding may develop from Saturday in the flood watch catchments.
A low pressure system situated to the east of Tasmania is producing a strong southerly stream over the State. The southerly stream will ease during Sunday as the low moves away.
Derwent catchment is wet from winter rainfall. Catchments in the south east and east are dry to very dry.
In the 24 hours to 9 am Saturday, widespread rainfall totals of 5-20 mm were observed in the flood watch catchments, with isolated high totals up to 35 mm.
Widespread rainfall totals of 10-20 mm in the southwest, and 5-15 mm in the south and east are expected for the remainder of Saturday, with higher totals possible in elevated areas. Additional rainfall totals of 5-15 mm are forecast for Sunday.
River rises are expected and isolated minor flooding may develop in some catchments as a result of the forecast rainfall. A Minor Flood Warning is current for the Huon River.
Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard over the next couple of days.
