Acting general manager Richard Blackwell, right, at the local Remembrance Day service this morning with Local Goverment Minister Mark Shelton, left, and acting mayor Jessica Cosgrove. |
Senior council officer Richard Blackwell becomes the second person to act in the top job since general manager Greg Winton went on leave in September, and the third this year.
Mr Blackwell said today that he would be in the role for several days, as the previous acting general manager was now on leave.
In September it was announced that Margaret Johns of the Hobart City Council would stand in for Mr Winton for several weeks. That appointment was extended by more than a month.
In July the council brought in Daniel Smee from Kingborough Council to act as general manager when Mr Winton stood aside for an investigation into the culling of birds at Tynwald Park.
Dear oh dear.......sigh.
ReplyDeleteAt the time of seeing & reading this I have been fortunated enough to already have my first letter of reply from the acting General Manager on Nov. 14th.
ReplyDeleteThe picture caught my attention in that the Minister for Local Government was presnt. There was also a mention of the presents of our acting Mayor (Deputy Mayor).
"Mr Blackwell said today that he would be in the role for several days, as the previous acting general manager was now on leave". Just an observation would that be on leave from Hobart City Council and leave tends to be more than several days. All up if the reply to my letter is a demonstration of Mr. Blackwell's best practice thank you.
As a follow up to this I was fortunate enough to have a one on one meeting on Wed. November 20th. thinking in my head that I was meeting with the author Mr. R. Blackwell (Acting General Manager) of my letter.
ReplyDeleteIt now seems to me that maybe he was not because I received a reply on November 20th. to my request on what constitutes a 'reasonable person' at the 18th. April 2019 Council meeting from the Acting General Manager Mr. B.Barrett.
Kinda' puts the "several days" comment into perspective.
