Sydney consultants land recruitment job

A SYDNEY consultancy has started the process of recruiting a new general manager for the Derwent Valley Council, following the recent departure of Greg Winton after nearly five years in the role.

Blackadder Associates have today advertised for a new general manager/chief executive officer to "help create the future growth and prosperity of the Derwent Valley."

The advertisement notes that the council has 70 staff (full-time equivalent) and "two executive managers assisting the general manager in providing services to the mayor and councillors and to an informed and articulate community."

The same consultancy developed the council's current Strategic Plan and, the Derwent Valley Gazette reports, has provided the council with its current acting general manager, Brian Barrett.

Applications close on April 6. Potential candidates are asked to submit their resume in order to receive a detailed information package in relation to the role.
