Central High St remains blocked to traffic, as does part of Burnett St, but the fenced area has been adjusted to allow cars travelling along Burnett St from the Woolworths end to continue up High St towards the council chambers.
Hazell Brothers has made a start on the demolition of the gutted Lee & Sons building today. The contractors are to be commended for their pro-active work in personally advising nearby business operators of their plan of attack for the work.
- A reminder about the street music series starting this weekend thanks to the New Norfolk Business Alliance. Three-piece jazz and swing outfit Les Coq Incroyables will be outside the post office from 10am to 1pm this Saturday, March 24.

Could it not be possible to allow foot traffic to walk on the western side of burnett st where the bus stop was?
ReplyDeleteThis just tells me that people are lazy. If they can't park in High street, they are not shopping in High St. I can't believe that those 3 shops were the main big crowd pullers.
ReplyDeleteCould it be possible that people are allowing the clean up to happen without the build up of cars and humans getting in the way. I must say it is nice to have High street used like a mall,if the council is ready for a nice lift with a new complex on the corner they should take a business hours only mall into consideration too. I'm sure come this time next week things will be starting to get back to normal. After the Freemason's burnt down, thing improved in NN cbd. Chin up and think positive.
