A WATER taxi proved an unusual sight on the River Derwent at
New Norfolk last week. New Norfolk News reader Martyn Evans snapped these
photos on his mobile phone and had a chat with Rod, the operator, who
transported a dozen or so cyclists upriver.
"Rod said the cyclists who came up to the Valley said
it was amazing that once you got past Bridgewater you could see masses of
ducks, swans, pelicans and other birdlife - a totally different view of what
you could see further down the estuary," Martyn said.
