Fire and snow at Mt Field

THIS time last week, Mt Field National Park had only just reopened after bushfire danger forced its closure for several days. It was not the first time the park had been closed this summer as fires threatened its boundaries, and visitor access had been limited to the day-use areas at other times. Higher up, heritage huts were wrapped in fire-retardant materials to protect them from ember attack.

Today, there was snow. The Mt Mawson snowcams recorded the amazing scene.
