Posting on social media yesterday, bass player and vocalist Tom Wolfe and guitarist Brodie Rainbird wrote: "Got to meet this legend today!
Their Facebook post continued: "James is one of the many volunteer fire fighters who has been working endlessly to try and stop these bush fires in Tasmania at the moment! James unfortunately had an accident in one of the trucks and suffered some back injuries! We called by the hospital to say hello as we got word he likes what we do! Great to meet ya James! You’re a legend! Rest up! #Grateful."
A long-serving member of the New Norfolk Fire Brigade, James was injured in a fire service vehicle accident while helping to fight a bushfire near Geeveston on January 31. He was airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital after a four-wheel-drive light tanker overturned in the area of Kermandie River Rd at Geeveston.
Get well soon James.
