FEDERAL funding has been provided for a "Walking history of New Norfolk" featuring informative "storyboards" and digital recordings. A grant of just over $11,000 will be matched by the Derwent Valley Council to fund an historical trail through the town.
The trail is intended to allow both visitors and locals to take their time to discover the history of New Norfolk and surrounding areas, through the installation of strategically placed information panels and access to "podcast" audio recordings.
Lyons Labor MHR Dick Adams said this and the $350,000 Willow Court conservation project would benefit the people of the Derwent Valley as well as visitors.
Derwent Valley Council regional development officer Jess Dallas thanked Anne Salt for her help with the grant application.
COVID-19 ADVICE
COVID-19 ADVICE: The following links provide official advice and information about the virus known as COVID-19.
Australia's state and federal governments are taking action to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Use the links above to source the latest advice about what you can do to protect yourself and others. Washing your hands for 20 seconds is one of the most effective forms of infection control. Do this after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; after close physical contact with anyone who is unwell; after using the toilet; before and after eating; before, during and after preparing food; and after feeding or touching a pet.
So yet again DVC is matching yet another Grant. No wonder New Norfolk has been looking tired and washed up for so long, Council haven't been spending the money to keep it noice!
ReplyDeleteMaybe if they get round to taking down the "rate payer funded" fence around the old Admin Building at Willow Court, they might have some more to spend! I've heard that the owner asked for it to come down in January.
Nice edit of my comment Ed, guess I must have hit the nail on the head!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNot so, Dev. I'm just not prepared to go to court over unsubstantiated allegations. Defamation law is a funny old thing.
