In a hard fought game against Brighton (a replay of last season's grand final), the New Norfolk Under 15s recorded one of their best wins ever. Ryan Wakefield gave an excellent display of four-quarter football as did Brett Hodge who took many telling marks and kicked three vital goals. Hayden Smith was supberb around the packs and his acrobatic style of play was something new! Brayden Chaplin, Joshy Whitford-Marriott and Nathan Wakefield ran hard all day and were a pleasure to watch. The backline led by Tom Gillies contiues to shine each week. Tom's work through the lines was just what is required of a defender. All 24 players should hold their heads high as all contributed to the win. Well done. The next game is against Sorell at Sorell starting at 10am - let's make it five in a row!
UNDER 16: New Norfolk 12.9 (81) d Sandy Bay 4.5 (29) at Boyer Oval. Goals - NN: Joshua Rowlands 5, Brandon King 2, Jordan Banks-Smith, Jacob Daley, Jordan Hayden, Dylan Pearce, Tyron Rainbird, Bradley Ransley; Best - NN: Brad Ransley, Daniel Adams, Jacob Daley, Daniel Coppleman, Blaise Reed, Jordan Banks-Smith.
The Under 16s have started the season with four straight wins. The boys are showing great spirit and seem to be enjoying their games being played on Boyer Oval on Saturday mornings before the reserves game. This weekend they will play Claremont before the reserves at Abbotsfield Park at 9.30am.
