Willow Court arrest

TASMANIA POLICE MEDIA RELEASE
May 11, 2012

Male arrested over Willow Court Fire at New Norfolk 3rd March 2012.

Around midnight Saturday 3rd March 2012, the Franklin ward of the
disused Royal Derwent Complex was totally destroyed by fire. The
heritage listed building was required to be demolished. Estimated
damage at the time was $500,000.

Investigations undertaken by taskforce Icarus members of the Eastern
District Criminal Investigations Branch, today resulted in a male
youth charged with the arson.

Investigations are continuing as it is believed that there were others
involved in the arson.

Police request that any member of the public with information in
relation to this fire or nay other fire contact Crimestoppers on 1800
333 000 or investigators at the Eastern District CIB on 6230 2318.
