Initial Flood Watch Advice for all the western river basins.
Western catchments are reasonable wet after high rainfall totals observed in the last 48 hours.
Rainfall totals in the range of 20-60 mm were reported in the 48 hours to 9am Tuesday in the western half of the state.
The upper parts of the Huon, Styx and Derwent river catchments however observed rainfall totals in the order of 20-40 mm in the last 24 hours.
Strong rises have been observed in the upper Huon and upper Styx rivers early this morning.
Further rainfall in the order of 20-30 mm is expected across the west and northwest today, with up to 40mm about elevated areas.
Additional rises are likely in most rivers and streams across the western half of Tasmania, with chance of localised minor flooding.
Strong and dangerous flows will be a hazard over next days where river levels are high.
