Australia's state and federal governments are taking action to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Use the links above to source the latest advice about what you can do to protect yourself and others. Washing your hands for 20 seconds is one of the most effective forms of infection control. Do this after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing; after close physical contact with anyone who is unwell; after using the toilet; before and after eating; before, during and after preparing food; and after feeding or touching a pet.

Election day

IT'S State Election day today, and polling places are open throughout Tasmania until 6pm. There are two polling places in New Norfolk, both with disability access. These are at:
  • New Norfolk Primary School, 8 Pioneer Ave
  • Derwent Valley Sport & Recreation Centre, 50 Derwent Tce
Outside the town, you can vote at:
  • Dromedary Community Hall, 14 Millvale Rd
  • Ellendale Hall, 939 Ellendale Rd
  • Glenora District High School, 620 Gordon River Rd
  • Granton Memorial Hall, Lyell Hwy
  • Gretna (St Mary's Parish) Hall, 3548 Lyell Hwy
  • Hamilton Town Hall, Tarleton St
  • Lachlan Community Hall, 511 Lachlan Rd
  • Magra CWA Building, Back River Rd
  • Maydena Online Access Centre, 36 Kallista Rd
  • Molesworth Primary School, 540 Molesworth Rd
  • Ouse Access Online Centre, 6947 Lyell Hwy
  • Westerway Primary School, 1619 Gordon River Rd
