Final flood warning for the Derwent

Final Flood Warning for the River Derwent

Issued at 10:05 am on Tuesday 8 November 2016

Flood Warning Number: 4
Minor flooding is not expected to develop in the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam.
In the 24 hours to 9 am Tuesday, rainfall totals about the upper Derwent catchment were generally less than 10 mm. For Tuesday rainfall totals over the upper Derwent expected to be generally less than 5mm
High stream levels and strong flows will remain a hazard throughout the Derwent catchment for the next few days.


River Derwent above River Ouse:

River rises have occurred in the upper reaches of the River Derwent above River Ouse. Lake King William continues to spill resulting in elevated river levels downstream.

River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam:

River levels have peaked in the middle reaches of the River Derwent above Meadowbank Dam.

River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam:

No flooding is expected in the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam though high stream levels will continue for the next few days.
The River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam is currently at 3.41 metres and steady.
The River Derwent at Macquarie Plains is currently at 2.20 metres and steady.


River Derwent around New Norfolk:

Flooding is not expected in the River Derwent around New Norfolk.
The River Derwent at New Norfolk is currently at 0.88 metres and falling.
