Part of New Norfolk without water

A BURST water main has cut water supplies to about 300 properties in central New Norfolk this morning. Reported around 5am, the incident is affecting parts of the town side of the river.

A TasWater crew is on site in Humphrey St and is working to restore services as soon as possible. An estimated restoration time of 1pm has been given. Click here for updates.

TasWater advises that once water has been restored to your property, please run your tap until the water is clear to remove any sediment, cloudiness or air in the pipes. If you continue to experience discoloured water after running your tap, contact TasWater on 13 69 92.

The company has apologised for the inconvenience and has placed a water trailer at the Child and Family Centre on Blair St for affected customers.

UPDATE: TasWater says full restoration is now expected by 4pm. The pipe has been repaired and is being scoured before the water supply resumes.
