Road Weather Alert for Tasmania

for Midlands, East Coast, Upper Derwent Valley and South East forecast districts

Issued at 1:08 pm on Sunday 1 January 2017.

Reduced visibility in heavy rainfall in thunderstorms will make road conditions dangerous during Sunday afternoon and evening in parts of the Upper Derwent Valley district, the southern halves of the Midlands and East Coast districts, south of Ross and Bicheno, and for northern parts of the South East district including the northern suburbs of Hobart. Isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop late afternoon and clear to the east during the evening. The heaviest falls are expected about the southern Midlands.
