Tree brings down power lines

ABOUT 70 properties at New Norfolk North are without electricity after a falling tree brought down power lines and started a grassfire earlier tonight.

The initial incident just before 7pm caused power interruptions to a wider area but most streets have now had their supply restored.

A temporary road closure is in place on Rocks Rd between the New Norfolk Rowing Club and Norske Skog while emergency services deal with the power lines.

TasNetworks estimates power will be restored to the remaining 73 properties by midnight. Click here for updates.
