Junior footy finals

Finals Week 2 - New Norfolk games

UNDER 14B preliminary final last Sunday, August 19, at Pontville
New Norfolk 4.3 (27) d Sandy Bay 4.2 (26). Best - NN: Connor Rowbottom, Connor Salter, Cooper Triffitt, Dakoda Smith, Patrick Vout, Mitchell Banks; Goals - NN: Alex Blair, Mitchell Banks, Adam Byrne. In a tight contest between two even sides, New Norfolk prevailed by a solitary point over Sandy Bay in the preliminary final. All of the boys played a part in their first final win. New Norfolk was more committed and played a better style of team football compared to the previous week. Connor Rowbottom's long chase and tackle in the the third quarter was a highlight of the game. Sandy Bay worked their way into the lead in the final quarter,  but the New Norfolk boys stayed focused and a great point by Wade Lockley regained the the lead. Congratulations to Cooper Triffitt on playing well in his 100th game. New Norfolk takes on Lindisfarne in the Under14B Grand Final this Sunday at 10.45am at KGV. New Norfolk players to wear white shorts

UNDER 15: After having a week's rest, the New Norfolk Under 15s will now play Brighton in the grand final at KGV at 12.30 this Sunday. These two sides meet in the grand final last season with Brighton winning by 20 points, but the Eagles will go into the game full of confidence having beaten Brighton in both encounters this season. New Norfolk players to wear black shorts. For those who are catching the bus to the grand final, it will be leaving the NNDFC at 10am.

UNDER16: North Hobart 26.13 (169) d New Norfolk 0.0 (3). Best - NN: Tyler Purdon, Brandon King, Tyron Rainbird, T. Pearcy, Jacob Daley, James Webb. This Sunday: Preliminary final - New Norfolk v Clarence at KGV at 5pm. New Norfolk players to wear black shorts.
