Under 14s courageous in defeat

PLAYING in their first grand final last weekend, the New Norfolk Under 14 footballers were courageous in defeat. The conditions were wet and slippery but both teams maintained a good skill level. New Norfolk's backline was led well by Patrick Vout and stood up well under constant pressure. The boys found it hard to get the ball deep into their forward line, which resulted in limited opportunities.

Coaches John Rowbottom and Shane Triffitt and all of the boys should be proud of their efforts this season. As the season progressed the team improved and their confidence grew. Well done to everyone involved. Thanks to Leonie Foster for performing the time-keeping duties throughout the finals series.

Scores - Lindisfarne 3.10 (28) d New Norfolk 1.2 (8). Goals - Lindisfarne: B. Elmer 2, J. Young; New Norfolk: Shayne Upton. Best - Lindisfarne: L. Briggs, M. Devine, J. Young, B. Elmer, M. Haydon, W. Press; New Norfolk: Patrick Vout, Cooper Triffitt, Connor Salter, Dakoda Smith, Joshua Farrow, Wade Lockley and Connor Rowbottom.
