Hop to it at the Westerway raspberry farm

AN open day will be held at the Westerway Raspberry Farm tomorrow (Sunday), allowing visitors to pick their own fruit. The price for self-picked varieties will be $10/kg for raspberries and $5/kg for blackcurrants.

The event is featured in today's issue of the Mercury newspaper with a great photo by Roger Lovell and the story can be read here. The farm continues to supply fruits for Cascade's blackcurrant juice following the sale of Cascade Cordials to Coca-Cola and an interesting discussion on that topic can be heard in a recent ABC Radio interview available here.

The open day is from 9.30-5.30 tomorrow and the farm can be accessed off Gordon River Rd, right on the t-junction at Westerway. There is also a farm gate shop offering a range of products made from berries grown on the farm.
