Forest burns planned today

FORESTRY Tasmania has announced that it may conducted two forest regeneration burns in the Derwent Valley today (Sunday). The burns are being considered southwest Bushy Park and south of Westerway.  Smoke from these burns is forecast to travel in a southerly direction.

These burns will be visible initially from Westerway, National Park, Gretna and Bushy Park. The smoke is currently forecast to travel away from major population centres but may become visible from adjoining Huon and Channel communities later this afternoon.
