Locals tipped in cricket finals

DERWENT Valley Gazette cricket columnist Quick Single has tipped all three Derwent Valley teams participating in week two of the Southern Cricket Association finals this weekend.

  • Molesworth I to its winning run, defeating Richmond/Cambridge in a nail-bitter tomorrow (Saturday). Jake King will have a day out with the willow, while Dean King will thrive on the challenge and contain the opposition batsmen in a fiery spell taking four wickets. This 2nd Grade second semi-final will be played at Richmond at 10.30am.
  • In the 3rd Grade first semi-final tomorrow, Bushy Park to defeat Runnymede easily. Damien Madden and Dylan Grant to get amongst the runs and Mitch Crosswell to terrorise the opposition batting line-up and take six wickets. Young Blake Howlett to also get amongst the wickets.
  • In the 5th Grade first semi-final at Boyer Oval tomorrow, Molesworth II to defeat McRobies Gully easily at home. Jacksyn Mann to post a big total and Aaron Triffitt to get amongst the wickets with a 5-for.
