Young man dies after Bothwell crash

POLICE have advised that a 23-year-old man from Bothwell has died in the Royal Hobart Hospital from injuries received in the single vehicle crash on the Highland Lakes Rd, 14.5km north of Bothwell, at about 8.35 on Friday night.

"The male was the sole occupant of a 2006 white Nissan Patrol utility which was travelling north on Highland Lakes Rd which left the roadway and rolled after failing to negotiate a left-hand curve in the road," crash investigator Constable Adam Hall said.

Constable Hall said the man had been thrown from the vehicle when it rolled. He was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital by the rescue helicopter but died of his injuries late yesterday afternoon.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or seen the vehicle prior to the incident. Phone 131 444.
