A MINUTE'S silence for the late Gordon "Whip" Collins was observed at the monthly meeting of the Derwent Valley Council on Thursday night. Mr Collins, who died last week after a short illness, was well regarded in the local community, particularly in sporting circles.
More recently, Mr Collins was a hard-working member of the Derwent Valley Tidy Towns Committee, part of a small team tackling graffiti and littering in the municipality.
Condolences to Mr Collins' family and friends.
