There were big numbers for the two running events which bookended the local celebrations. The day kicked off with the fun run and walk at 10am and finished with the color run around 1pm.

Food and drink vans and the Lions Club barbecue kept everyone refreshed as the local temperature began to climb towards 24 degrees. Fun and games for children was provided by the Derwent Valley Youth Future Action Team (D'FAT) and the Bridgewater PCYC.

The ambassador's address was followed by the presentation of the local Australia Day Awards as follows:
Young Citizen of the Year: Alesha Moles, of Black Hills
Citizen of the Year: Martyn Evans, of Magra
Junior Sports Person of the Year: Lauren Banks, of New Norfolk
Sports Group of the Year: New Norfolk Cricket Club
Community Event of the Year: New Norfolk Christmas Group
